Talking Therapies are an NHS service that offers help and support to people in Berkshire suffering with depression or anxiety based problems. They offer telephone support, face to face therapy and counselling at local GP surgeries and health centres, computer based therapy, courses and workshops. We have a counsellor and psychology practitioner based in The Boathouse Surgery. You can refer yourself directly to Talking Therapies. However, we would also advise that you see your GP if you feel that you may have a mental health difficulty.

Healthwatch Berkshire is the independent consumer champion for health and social care. They monitor and gathers people’s experience of quality of care, through feedback and information gathering in regards to any aspect of their health and social care. This information is then taken to providers and commissioners or services. They join up with local voluntary organisations, Health and Social Care organisations, local councillors and health commissioning groups.

The area served by the Boathouse Surgery is in the district covered by the NHS North and West Reading CCG, which is responsible for ensuring you receive all the services you need. Please see their website for more information and contact details.
