The health visiting service provides support and health advice to families with children from birth to five years.  Health Visitors are registered nurses who have undertaken additional training. The health visiting team based at Pangbourne Surgery cover all families registered at Pangbourne as well as families registered with other GPs living in Tilehurst (RG31) and Purley (RG8) who come under the umbrella of West Berkshire Council.

The health visiting service covers:-

  • Antenatal contact
  • New birth visits
  • Post natal groups will be offered to all families by invitation
  • 6-8 week review (including postnatal depression screening)
  • 9 month review developmental reviews
  • 2 year review developmental reviews
  • Additional support to be offered to under 5’s, as required e.g. behaviour, sleep, toileting, feeding and maternal health.
