Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

We are now using the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). For information on EPS please visit: Electronic prescriptions – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

If you take regular medication, please contact your chosen pharmacy to nominate them to receive your electronic prescription – please do not contact the surgery to do this.

If you have already set your pharmacy nomination, your prescriptions will now go to them electronically.

If you do not have a pharmacy nominated on the system in time for your next prescription, we will give you a ‘token’ to take to any pharmacy that will allow them to download your prescription.

Dispensary patients – you do not need to do anything; we will continue to dispense your medication here at the surgery.

IMPORTANT message for patients with ‘automatic repeats’

If you have repeat medication that we issue for you monthly without you requesting, known as ‘automatic repeats’, these unfortunately are not compatible with the Electronic Prescribing system, and a signed prescription will continue to be printed for you. We will move you over to ‘repeat dispensing’, where a batch of 3 – 6 months of prescriptions can be sent electronically, as soon as we can, and will notify you when we do.
