Saturday appointments

We are open once every 4 Saturday’s for pre-booked appointments only. The phone lines will be closed at this time.

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Minor injuries

If your injury is not serious or life-threatening, you can get help from a minor injuries unit, rather than going to an A&E department. Our nearest minor injuries unit is West Berkshire Community Hospital. Opening Hours 8am to 10pm, 365 days a year.

The minor injury can treat sprains and strains, broken bones, wound infections, minor burns and scalds, minor head injuries, insect and animal bites, minor eye injuries, injuries to the back, shoulder and chest. Minor injuries units cannot treat chest pain, breathing difficulties, major injuries, stomach pains, gynaecological problems, pregnancy problems, allergic reactions, overdoses, alcohol related problems, mental health problem, conditions likely to require hospital admission or problems usually dealt with by a GP.

Accident and emergency departments (A&E)

Our closest A&E department is the Royal Berkshire Hospital. A&E departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You should visit A&E or call 999 only for serious or life-threatening emergencies. Please also see the NHS website for more information on emergency and urgent care services.
