Urgent appointments

Information:

This is not a walk in clinic.

To request an urgent appointment:

  • please complete our medical query form between 8am and 4pm
  • if you need an urgent appointment after 4pm please phone us on 0118 9842234

A GP will use your answers to triage the request and choose the most suitable doctor, paramedic, nurse or other healthcare professional to help you. You might not see your own GP in this clinic.

Routine appointments

To request a routine GP appointment:

  • complete a medical query online form, available between 8am and 4pm
  • complete a urinary symptoms online form, click here if you are female aged 18+ and think you have a urine infection, unless you are pregnant. Children, men and pregnant women with urinary symptoms should complete the medical query form above
  • for all nurse and other appointments, phone us on 0118 9842234

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Physiotherapy

You can now refer yourself to physiotherapy for certain conditions, please visit Musculoskeletal – Stay Well (staywell-bob.nhs.uk).

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

If you require a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter to be present at your consultation, please contact reception and let us know. We can then arrange for an interpreter to be present for your consultation.

Home visits

Home visits are available for patients who are too ill to come into the surgery. If possible, please request a home visit before 10am. You will usually see your GP, however if your GP is away, another GP will visit you.

Please note that the surgery is better equipped to deal with medical problems, therefore home visits should be reserved for patients who cannot come into the surgery. Home visits also take up much more of a doctors time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile, please come into the surgery to be seen.
